Web IEP version 5 and Firefox 3  View Printable Version
Friday, October 10 2008 @ 10:54 AM Central Daylight Time
Contributed by: sacomsto

The new version of the Web IEP software will roll out on November 3, 2008.

We've been informed by the AEA that after extensive testing they have concluded that in order to receive the most "consistent" experience with regards to printing the web iep forms etc. that we use Firefox 3 on both PCs and Macs.

This does not mean you have to discontinue the use of Internet Explorer 7 for other web browsing, it just means that they/we are recommending you use Firefox 3 when accessing the Web IEP system. The two browsers can live happily together at the same time on your computer.

The following instructions are designed to help you download, install and setup the Firefox 3 browser on your computer.

Payment Towards Existing Balance  View Printable Version
Tuesday, December 12 2006 @ 06:34 PM Central Standard Time
Contributed by: bcbrock

Parents will be receiving letters soon that indicate they have an outstanding balance on fees that were assessed earlier this year. Since there is not a function in the Point of Sale Application (POSA) to make additional payments towards an existing order, we've implemented a checkbox that will simply indicate that an incoming order is actually a payment towards an already existing order.

The new check box is labled "PAYMENT TOWARDS EXISTING BALANCE", and is located on the Payee / Guardian & Payment Information Form.

When a parent comes in to pay their balance, select the same set of fees that the parent chose when they were first registering their student, and then be sure to click the new check box so that we are able to tell that this is not a new order, but rather a payment towards their previous order. If you have their previous order number, please enter it into the comments field.

SMTP Authentication  View Printable Version
Wednesday, July 12 2006 @ 11:10 AM Central Daylight Time
Contributed by: bcbrock

On Thursday, July 13, 2006 a change was made to our existing e-mail setup. The result is more secure and helps eliminate additional opportunities for SPAM and viruses to propagate.

A simple change in your e-mail program is required so that you can SEND e-mail successfully. You will still be able to “receive” email even if you haven’t made this change yet.

Basically this change involves you telling your e-mail client (aka Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora etc.) that in order to SEND an email message it needs to “authenticate” or “login” using your username and password first.

The steps are listed below for the most used applications.
