sqlReports Updated  View Printable Version
Friday, August 06 2010 @ 01:43 PM Central Daylight Time
Contributed by: bcbrock

PowerSchoolsqlReports, a tool used in PowerSchool to generate SQL based data reports, has been updated to a newer version. For end-users, the big change is that when you run a report, there is now a "Print" button in the upper right corner of the report. If you click this button, the report will appear in a new window without the PowerSchool header, or navigational links down the left side of the web page. This produces a much cleaner looking result when you want to have a hard copy.

Next School / Next Grade Indicators  View Printable Version
Monday, April 12 2010 @ 08:59 AM Central Daylight Time
Contributed by: bcbrock

PowerSchoolAt the end of the school year, there is a process run that will both graduate students to their next grade level, and transfer students between schools. PowerSchool uses two fields for instructions on which grade a student will be promoted to (or retained) and which school to place the student into for the following year.

Those two fields are 'Next Year Grade' and 'Next School Indicator'. Both these fields need to be completed for every student in the school district. They are found on the 'Scheduling Setup' student page.

This article will show how to mass set these fields so you don't have to do each student individually.

View Semester 2 Schedules  View Printable Version
Thursday, January 07 2010 @ 12:58 PM Central Standard Time
Contributed by: bcbrock

PowerSchoolI was recently asked if Special Needs teachers were able to see what classes their IEP students were scheduled in for 2nd semester. By default, PowerTeacher only shows you what classes they are currently enrolled in.

To enable teachers to view Semester 2 schedules, I've created a report that mimics the Class Schedule that students receive from the Guidance Office. The name of the report is S2 Schedules, and can be run for an entire class, or for a single student. It is available now in PowerTeacher.
